These plans are designed to provide flexibility and scalability, whether you're a small startup or a large enterprise. There are four main pricing plans offered by Plaid: Trial (free), Pay-as-you-go, Growth, and Custom (also known as Scale).
\n
For customers based in Europe, we only offer Custom plans at this time. Additionally, certain products like Payment Initiation (including Variable Recurring Payments), Signal Transaction Scores, and Transfer are currently only offered via Custom plans. For more detailed information, review our Pricing page and the Plaid Billing section of our Docs.
\n
To view the exact pricing available to you, apply for Production access. Pricing information for Pay-as-you-go and Growth plans is available as part of the Production access request flow. To discuss pricing options for Custom/Scale plans, please contact Plaid's Sales team.
\n
Trial plan (free)
\n
For developers in the US and Canada creating a new Plaid team on or after April 15, 2026, Plaid offers a free Trial plan. The Trial plan lets you use Plaid with real production data at no cost, with a cap of 10 Production Items. It includes eight bundled products: Auth, Transactions (including Transactions Refresh), Balance, Identity, Assets, Liabilities, Investments (including Investments Refresh), and Statements. Most OAuth institutions are accessible without completing the full Production registration process. To sign up, visit dashboard.plaid.com/signup.
\n
The Trial plan is available to new Plaid accounts that have not yet applied for or been granted any form of Production access. If your team has a pending or approved Production application, or existing Limited Production access, the Trial plan is not available — there is currently no self-service way to switch.
\n
When you're ready to scale beyond 10 Items or add products not in the Trial bundle, you can apply for full Production access and select a paid plan.
\n
Pay-as-you-go
\n
The Pay-as-you-go plan is the most flexible option. It has no minimum spend or commitment, meaning you only pay for what you use. This plan is ideal for businesses that are just starting out or have variable usage needs. You can start using Plaid's services without any upfront commitment and scale up as your needs grow. The Pay-as-you-go plan does not currently support all Plaid products.
\n
Growth
\n
The Growth plan is designed for businesses that have a consistent level of usage and are ready to make an annual commitment with a minimum spend. The advantage of this plan is that it offers lower per-use costs than the Pay-as-you-go plan. This means that as your usage increases, your cost per-use decreases, making it a cost-effective option for growing businesses. The Growth plan does not currently support all Plaid products.
\n
Custom (Scale)
\n
The Custom or Scale plan is designed for larger businesses or those with specific needs. This plan requires a higher minimum spend and an annual commitment. For customers with consistent spend of approximately $2,000 per month or more, it can accommodate the lowest per-use costs among all plans. Custom plans can also include access to enhanced services such as implementation assistance, SSO, and premium support. If you are interested in these services, discuss with your Account Executive or Account Manager.
\n
How to choose the right plan
\n
If you're a developer in the US or Canada just getting started, the free Trial plan lets you build and test with real data before committing to a paid plan.
\n
Choosing the right paid plan depends on your business needs and usage levels. If you're just starting out or have variable usage, the Pay-as-you-go plan offers the most flexibility. If you have consistent usage and are ready to commit to a minimum spend, the Growth plan can provide cost savings. For larger businesses or those with specific needs, the Custom plan offers the most flexibility and the lowest per-use costs.
\n
Remember, the right plan for you is the one that best fits your business needs. It's always a good idea to review your usage and needs regularly to ensure you're on the most cost-effective plan.
